2009/48/EG Directive on the Safety of Toys - Update April 2017

On the 20th of July 2013, the transition period for the observance of the new European directive 2009/48/EG treating the safety of toys expired. The directive regulates the commercialization of toys either produced in or imported into the European Union, and intends to harmonize the safety level.

In the context of the new directive, it is intended that the safety of consumers, especially of children under 14 years, should be improved.
